I don't know about best, but it is top 10. A whole movie shot in one room. You could not pull that off today. I try to watch it everytime it comes on AMC.

Anyone seen 310 to Yuma? Is it worth renting? I am in line to get it at the local library, but its going to be awhile. I am number 325 on the list of people to rent the movie. With library check outs being two weeks at a time, I figure I will get to see the movie in about 5 years.

I have yet to see 3:10 to Yuma, even thought I own it. But both my dad and grandfather, who have seen it, said to was absolutely amazing. If you really wanted I could send you a copy. You would have to pay postage though since I am cheap.

It is worth renting for sure. Better than I expected it to be. Check and see if there is a redbox in your area. They have it for $1.

You know I forgot all about that. I never go to Mc Donalds, but I will check that out. Thanks.

Yup, it's good. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe both do a great job, but I think Crowe really steals the show as the evil, yet moral villain. Great dynamic between the two characters, and pulled off in a convincing manner--there's a minimum of the hokey Hollywoodness to it. I found it ironic that the two leads playing the "quintessential American heroes" are both foreigners and did a damn good job at it.

If you like westerns that are more than shootouts and horse chases, you should check out The Proposition. Its a gritty story set in the "wild west" of Australia, where instead of Native Americans, they have the Aborigines. It's written by Nick Cave, so it's not a feel good movie by any means, but nonetheless, it's still very well done.

if you haven't seen juno yet, it's worth checking out.

imo, it's the best movie to have come out since 2000.

I just watched Juno about 2 weeks ago. It was different than what I thought it would be. I loved it. I thought it was gonna be a teen fart and dick joke kinda movie, but it had more meaning than that. 2 thumbs up.

i totally agree. i hadn't even heard of it until just the past week and i went to watch it in a dollar theatre. i can see why it isn't well recognized. you can feel how long it is near the end, but i didn't mind at all.

i cant believe i've missed this thread. good god.

Blake, your taste in movies is insanely good. many of my favorites in your list.

thanks stab.

dgdave:

i was lucky enough to see a preview for it at the darjeeling limited and so i kinda knew beforehand that it would be more of a heavy sarcasm/wit/dry humor type movie.

it had me laughing from "this is the most glorious discarded living room set i've ever seen in my life" which yes, was the first line in the movie.

I like the original 3:10 to Yuma, but enjoyed the new one as well.

Congrats on the baby Dave. There's nothing better. It's like an ace a day, for the rest of your life...to put it into DG terms.
