Eh, at least he says in the end of the article that he's going to stick with it for a while. I must admit, I wasn't completely convinced after my first round either. It took me a few weeks to warm up to the game...and if his score after 5 holes is equal to his age, he probably hasn't made any of the 'feelgood' shots that make you say 'cool!' and want to keep playing.

We'll have to keep an eye out for follow-up columns and see if he changes his tune...

 Not impressed with the article, but at least he said he'd stick with it. Maybe then he'll change is view of it.

So will this article be followed by other articles like "football, it's not soccer", or "unreal, it's not halo", or "I'm an unemployed video game dork, not a journalist"??? (no offense meant to all you unemployed video game dorks out there  )

Monkey,

Were you reading over my shoulder?

I went to refill the coffee and what I was about to "send" was already on the board...

Interesting...

I respect everyone's right to an opinion, so I won't say much.

However, if I'm reading the article correctly, the guy has only played five holes, right? I've never played ball golf, but I sure wouldn't pass judgement on it after only five holes. Maybe five rounds, but never five holes.

I also don't like the "hippie sport" moniker. I understand where it comes from, but I wish that label would get dropped. I love when I tell people I play DG and I get the invariable "I didn't know you smoked weed?" I don't.

Actually, what I love about this article is that it shows that a reporter or columnist can say to themselves, " Yeah, I have heard of that..." and that is enough to make them an expert on the subject throwing out however many inches of copy they need at their deadline...

I have to respectfully disagree with you Jwt4412. If anything, I think his column shows how uninformed he really is. If he were trying to act knoledgeable he would have thrown out a name like Climo (and probably have spelled it with a 'K').

If nothing else, it puts disc golf in Wired magazine. Maybe if the guys writes a later article that has content about DISC golf taking up 80% of the article instead of most of the talk being about the game played with clubs and balls, it might be good exposure for the game.

When I tell people I play disc golf, most often their reply is "Disco?!?..."
