I thought I would create a page for the people who have begun to test the RIT-stained waters. Post up a picture of your attempt, perhaps even with close-ups of particularly cool parts, and tell me what methods you used. Perhaps I can offer some tips/suggestions on what to try next time.
So even if you think that the dye is no good, still post a picture here of your disc. Your most recent adventures getting your feet wet with dye, so to speak. Figuratively, of course- in fact, that'll be the first tip of the week: strive to keep one's feet as well as one's hands/face/dog as free of dye as possible.
To start things off, I thought I would share one of my earliest attempts ever-
For this one I had heavily concentrated red dye in acetone and I paintbrushed it on heavily. The overdose of acetone caused the vinyl to wrinkle and pull up off the disc, resulting in all the little bleeds all over the place. A little acetone goes a long way!
