I haven't found a real-life scenario where I thought this quote would fit the bill but I crack up every time I hear the old guy say "Why don't you make like a tree and go f*** yourselves!"

hehe, I agree. It was a very good movie, but some of the dialogue did seem a bit contrived to make the movie "instantly quotable". I actually heard an interview with the writer before Juno became as popular as it has, and she said that's part of what she was aiming for with the dialogue...to have those quotes that people repeat all the time, a la any Will Ferrell movie. Still though, very well done and great acting all around (I particularly liked the supporting cast, esp. Juno's parents).

Thread revival.

Watched Charlie Bartlett yesterday (girlfriends Netflix pick), not too bad.

My buddy showed me some of eXistenZ last Friday and it has jumped to the top of my queue because I'm dying to see the rest...

Battle Royale was an interesting concept.

O and I also watched some of The Holy Mountain the other day, wow.

Anyone seen anything good recently?

It is a good concept, though as much as I love Kitano Takeshi's work, I have to admit that the film adaptation doesn't do the manga justice. Other Kitano movies I HIGHLY recommend are Brother (about an old school Japanese yakuza in the States) and definitely Zatoichi (the 2003 film). Well, pretty much anything he has made is good.

MACHETE! That movie deserves an Oscar for the best use of Porno-Funk in a film. It is also the first movie where you see Steven Seagal act.

I just watched that with my boys last week. It was ok. I did see Despicablr Me about a month ago and it was the best animated movie I've seen in years. I also just went to Jackass 3D and it was a really good time.
