That's a little far for me for a jump putt. Much more accurate with a toss without turning my head.

You don't need to turn your head at all or only a little without loosing eye contact. I need to pull my arm back to my side for that kind of D with a mid. And snap hard. Nose down makes about 20' distance difference at these ranges with mids. I throw shorter with putters. Although I haven't tried my 105 Wizard for that kind of throw.

The distance of Feldy's jump putt is the farthest where I can keep a mid at the basket height. Not consistently as that is about my max D. Landing to 210' is my record distance. So that dude has got an arm compared to me. No news there :-)

On European Open 2006 DVD he hyzers a drive on a 113 meter hole. Over a wall of trees.

I certainly would do the same you do at that distance. Im just sharing some stuff I taped off the pros, and what things they can do :wink:

I wrote my previous reply before watching the video. Video can mislead big time but to me that throw didn't seem to be 45-50 meters necessarily but a bit shorter I'd imagine.

The video file is broken. VLC and Media Player classic would show the first picture and freeze or crash the program. Mplayer showed until 8 seconds or just before the disc touches the ground which means that the end of the file ain't working correctly.

The video file is not broken, get quicktime installed and it will work fine.

as for the distance. Trust me its 45-50 meters. Its really close to the red tee, which is 54meters if I recall correctly

After hanging out with Dave and having him teach me a thing or two (not nearly enough) about his jump-putt, I've started using it almost exclusively as my upshot. I find that I come up either short or long most of the time, never too far left or right.

I was thinking the same. That's *really* close to illegal (if I understand the rule correctly). Obviously, he's sunk some time in that shot and it's paying off for him.

The main problem with calling a violation on jump putts is proving the player was in violation. The release comes so close to when the foot leaves the ground you almost always have to give the benefit of the doubt to the putter.

I'd agree when it's that close, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks, jumping past their lie and then releasing.
