Hey,

I graduated last semester. I'm currently whoring my skills at the multimedia department of LCC. Otherwise not much else going on. I've been hittin dexter morning before work and doing getting down to Whistler as much as possible. Just got back from a long weekend golf trip. Hit up bunch of southern Oregon courses and as for south as Eureka California.

I see it's business as usual here....

I can't believe that I haven't hit up any courses south of Whistlers, were there any courses down south that you'd highly recommend?

Tom Pierce park in Grants Pass is killer. Lots of variety and cool homemade baskets.

Crescent City California has a nice tone pole course right on the beach. There are 27 holes and one actually throws over the bay.

I played a couple cool object courses on the redwood highway from GrantsPass to Crescent city. One was in the town of Merlin. You can find them on the PDGA site.

I'm headin up to Washington and BC this weekend so I'll have a chance to play a bunch of new courses, that should be a lot of fun. I'm going to try to play the course at the Whistler resort in BC.

Hey Dom, you'll have to give me a ring when you're up around these parts, I'd be happy to show you around some of the courses up here. If you're on a "just for kicks" kind of road trip and aren't too concerned with reaching a certain destination by a certain time, I'd highly recommend stopping by The Inn at Lucky Mud. Really good people there, an awesome course that you'd probably have to yourself, and some gorgeous PNW scenery (some of the ferns there come up to my shoulders!). I think it's about an hour off of I-5.

Also, just a heads up, I've heard that the Whistler course either got taken out or got seriously shortened--I think maybe 9 holes got pulled and integrated into the remaining 9, effectively halving the course. I haven't had the opportunity to play it, so can't comment, but that's what someone was telling me. I've heard there are some good courses on Vancouver Island, though, esp. on Pender Island. Just something to consider.

I think you may be thinking of Hagg Lake out in Forest Grove. They pulled something like half the baskets in order to do some work tilling the fields and stuff.

As far as I know the only change to Whistler's is some new pin placements.

Actually, upon further research, it looks like I might have heard wrong. Maybe what I heard was that they put in an extra 9, but had to shorten holes to do so.... Anyway, assuming this guy's review was actually done in April, it looks like it's certainly playable. http://www.dgcoursereview.com/reviews.p ... 8&mode=rev Makes me think I might need to plan a trip up north this summer! There's also a Houck designed course in Kamloops which unfortunately got damaged by pine beetles, but it's supposed to be a good DG destination nonetheless.

I was thinking of stopping by and seeing Bob on the way back down. I've heard it's a great course and covered with cats.
