Lyle begins his throw with a couple of walk in steps but his final 3 steps are a traditional X-step. This is at the beginning of his X-step and he gets his momentum going quickly with light footwork.
Lyle carries his momentum forward with a quick step through his cross-step. His hips are beginning to close and starting to turn his upper body.
Here Lyle is at his point of maximum reach back. His hips are closed and his shoulders are turned away so his back is almost facing the basket. Lyle's off arm is helping to rotate his shoulders away. His weight is over his back foot and his hips are ready to explode into the pivot.
Lyle has planted his foot 90 degrees from the target onto a bent knee and his hips are starting to rotate open. His weight is transferring to his pivot foot and his shoulders are following the lead of the hips. Lyle's pull line keeps the disc tight to his chest as his arm comes through.
This is right before the hit. Lyle's hips and shoulders have opened, pulling his arm through and his elbow is in the process of extending. His off arm is close to his body and his weight is fully shifted over his plant foot which has begun its pivot.
Immediately after the hit, Lyle's hips and shoulders are now fully open. His elbow is fully extended and his arm is entering the follow-through as his plant foot continues to pivot.
Lyle has a strong follow-through and his upper body continues to rotate while he pivots on his plant foot.
Lyle has stepped through the pivot to relieve stress on the knee as him momentum continues forward.
