Paul begins his throw with a couple of leading steps but his final 3 steps are a traditional X-step. This is at the beginning of his X-step and he he keeps his footwork fluid and smooth while he builds momentum leading up to the hit.
Paul carries his momentum well into his cross step and gets a good push off of his left foot. Here his hips have closed and his shoulders are beginning to rotate away from the target.
Here Paul is at his point of maximum reach back. His hips are closed and his shoulders are turned away so his back is almost facing the basket. Paul's arm is extended back with the disc on his pull line and his off arm is helping to rotate his shoulders away. His weight is over his back foot and his hips are ready to explode into the pivot.
Paul has planted his foot 90 degrees from the target onto a bent knee and his hips are starting to rotate open. His weight is shifting forward and his shoulders are following the lead of the hips. Paul's off arm is close to his body and the disc is near his chest.
This is right before the hit. Paul's hips have exploded open and rotated his shoulders, whipping his arm through. His weight is slightly behind his pivot foot but his upper body is forward over the disc to keep the disc down. His elbow is in the process of extending and his foot is beginning its pivot.
Immediately after the hit, Paul's hips and shoulders are now fully open. His elbow is fully extended and his arm is entering the follow-through.
Paul is following-through strong and his upper body is still moving. His back leg has lifted off the ground and his off arm is now off his body to aid in slowing down his rotation.
Paul has stepped through the pivot to relieve stress on the knee as him momentum continues forward.
